Who controls your information
Make This A Podcast is the controller of personal information processed for this service. Contact support@makethisapodcast.com for privacy questions or requests.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, identity-provider identifiers, and sign-in records.
- Your content: topics, prompts, uploaded PDFs or text, objectives, scripts, edits, pronunciation guidance, voice samples you choose to provide, and generated audio.
- Project and usage information: project settings, categories, render status, finished-minute usage, downloads, device and browser information, IP address, security events, and service logs.
- Billing information: selected plan, Stripe customer and transaction identifiers, subscription status, invoices, refunds, and minute-ledger entries. Stripe collects full payment-card details; we do not receive or store the full card number.
- Communications: messages and support correspondence you send us.
Why we use it
We process information to provide and secure the service, authenticate accounts, generate and store scripts and audio, measure entitlements, process purchases, provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, improve reliability, comply with law, and communicate about the service. Depending on where you live, our legal bases are performance of our contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
AI and service providers
We use trusted providers to operate the service: Auth0 by Okta for authentication; OpenAI to generate source-grounded scripts; ElevenLabs to generate audio and, when enabled, authorized cloned voices; Stripe for checkout and billing; Render for application and database hosting; and Cloudflare R2 for object storage. OpenAI script requests are configured with API storage disabled. Each provider processes information under its own contractual and security terms. See our Subprocessor List.
Retention
Our encrypted sign-in transaction cookie lasts 10 minutes, website session cookie lasts 8 hours, and ChatGPT project-handoff cookie lasts 15 minutes. We otherwise keep account, project, source, script, and audio information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, unless you delete it or ask us to do so. Billing, fraud-prevention, security, tax, and legal records may be retained longer when required or reasonably necessary. Backup deletion may take additional time.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information. Depending on your location, you may also object, restrict processing, withdraw consent, appeal a decision, or complain to your local data-protection authority. California residents may request disclosure, correction, or deletion and may exercise rights without discrimination. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Email support@makethisapodcast.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may verify your identity before acting.
International transfers and security
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on contractual and other lawful transfer safeguards. We use encryption in transit, encrypted and short-lived session cookies, access controls, server-side API keys, private object storage, and account-scoped authorization. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Children and sensitive information
The service is for people age 18 or older and is not directed to children. Do not upload a child’s voice or personal information. Please avoid uploading health, financial, government-identifier, or other highly sensitive personal information unless it is necessary, lawful, and you have authority to do so.
Automated processing and changes
AI helps draft scripts and audio, but it does not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Review every output before relying on or publishing it. We may update this notice as the product changes and will post a new effective date here. Material changes may also be communicated through the service.
